I think what tokyogirl is saying is that the branding (especially for most Japanese brands) here is chic/high-end. In a way , siguro ganun, dahil the aesthetics are different. Like, Majorlica Mjorca being sold exclusively in dept stores, where in Japan it's available in small combini in train stations.

On the other hand, maybe the 'normal' brands in Japan for everyone is (almost) equivalent to the middle class here. difference in socio-economics, I guess.

I do love their donuts and croissant, though. :D Also, I like that they have bento with Filipino foods like Tocilog, Pancit etc. In a way, it is educating the consumers that packaging is important as well as the taste. :D

I do hope, they improve on their 'premium' coffee. They have a good Saeco brewer, but the coffee was awful.

LOL, Im so easy, I drove there right after reading this....the cha soba and the onigiris were yum and hit the spot.
I put the katsudon in the fridge because my eyes were actually hungrier than my stomach.

FamilyMart is also widespread in South Korea as well. I only knew now that it's originally from Japan :P

I hope they introduce the different Japanese KitKat, especially the matcha tea one! And that they branch out to other Ayala Malls like Trinoma.

FamilyMart is practically everywhere in Japan so you're likely to find the familiar blue and green sign at home in the fashionable corner of Daikanyama as well as in the back streets of downtown Katsushika. ask anyone who's lived in Japan and they can tell you it's accessible to virtually anyone from all walks of life.

but in the Philippines, whoa! a konbini for the rich and famous and the sosyal???
why set up your branches only in trendy, upscale enclaves, Famima?
really disappointing to know that your officials gave their approval to have the well-loved brand transformed to cater exclusively to an upper-end market, tsk-tsk.

Constructive criticism: the picture you posted of him inside the voting booth, actually voting and shading the circle corresponding to his votes undermines the sanctity of the ballot. A quick look at the position of his hands would immediately reveal who he voted for, and I guess that's really not for us to decide. I think posting pictures like that is prohibited, or at the very least disrespectful of the right to suffrage. I understand that your blog is wildly popular and you even have an Android app. I know that the Internet is a free world but it does mean that people can be irresponsible with the space they occupy online, especially when it relates to matters vested with public interest, such as the elections. I recognize that the intent of this post is to highlight Sen. Escudero's fashion sense, but the picture of him in the voting booth could have been left out. Thank you and more power to your blog.

I have been to Estrel's many times and I never had a bad experience. I understand if it may look better than it tastes for some because taste is subjective. I didn't know about Estrel's before, so I checked their website first and learn more about their products. Their cakes are pre-ordered and you need to make a deposit which is acceptable for those who really wants to try it. I think they also sell a few cakes that are not pre-ordered if you happen to get there early (8:30AM).
